Replacement grille?

The wife's '14 convertible S needs a new front grille insert. Someone backed into it, ever so slightly, but enough to push the rally lights back and into the grille, cracking it slightly. It's only cosmetic, no engagement with the bumper or anything else that I can see. It seems like it'd be a pretty easy thing to replace. Understanding, of course, that all those plastic fasteners are tedious to deal with.

I've attached a picture of the grille that's in there now. I've also included one with the brightness/contrast blown out to better show the detail.

We bought this 'as new' (warranty and all) after it had been customized with a variety of factory options but the deal 'fell through'. 400 miles, that's new enough (although my Cayenne came with 14 on it).

Which grille is this? Is that the JCW one?

Who's a reasonable source for a replacement part?

Hello,

I can help you. Its the top grille correct?

You will have to get the grille with the brackets as its a combo for the factory rally lights.

Its the stock Cooper S grille for the 2011 up MINI.

Is the grille any different than the one that wouldn't have the rally lights? I won't know until I pull it off but I think the brackets are okay, the lights we're just tilted back on their pivot screws. the cost is minimal but there's no sense in buying all second set of brackets if I don't actually need them

Ok, had a chance to look at it in daylight, attached a pic.

Yes, it's got the brackets going through the grille. Is the grille itself available separately or does it always include the brackets?

You can barely make it out in the picture but there's a crack running through some of the honeycomb sections. The bottom chrome strip is also loose on the right (passenger) side. Can't tell if that's a failure on the grille plastic or the strip.

Is there any other part besides the grille kit that would be a good "order it together" because it's a known breakage item during the replacement?

I'm assuming it's a 'basic take it apart and put it back together' kind of job. Are the instructions online anywhere? I already know the hassles of the plastic push connectors used in cars these days, got a variety of tools for dealing with those.

Welcome, you just pop out those top clips and then the bottom inserts above the bumper.

Thats pretty much it and they making the new one like the old one. Most of the time its the brackets that just get bent.

Let me know what you find after you take it apart.

That grille fits, but I do need a new chrome strip that fits along the front lower edge of it. What the part number for it?

This being the strip on the bottom of the upper grille (the part above), that sits right behind the rally lights. I can re-use the one I have but it's cracked just behind the right rally light. There's enough to hold things in place, for now, but I want to order a fresh one. What's the part number?
