Who else likes the new F60

I was kind of hoping they would of kept the hood the same. Oh though it looks like a very Subaru-ish hood scoop can be added to it. Hmmm.

Thoughts, ideas, discussion

when i got my '12 i was hoping the bump would become a scoop in the future generation, here's the next generation and it's just become a different bump.

the rear looks cheaper, even on the JCW. i love the rear of the r60's. not a fan of the side scuttle and the flatter bonnet and also not a fan of the bigger body.

I like it!

We ordered a 2011 All4 sight unseen before they arrived in the States. Lived through Smelly Clutch fiasco. Ordered a 2014 All4 which we have now and is almost end of lease.

We ordered a 2017 S All4 about 10 days ago. Should start production this week.

While we have not seen one in the metal, dealer has premier on Saturday so we will get first hand look.

Interior seems to be a huge upgrade, my wife and I are very excited about finally having a power seat with memory. I'm 6'1 and she's 5'2 so we are both over adjusting the manual seat.

Exterior I think will prove to be better looking in person. It's a unique look though looking more like a Forester.

We shall see. We need to see the inside of the bonnet to see if it's a possibility.

I'm with you. While I like the new placement of the license plate, i'm not a fan of that bumper. It looks like an after thought

I'm all about the creature comforts as well. The Power memory seats are a huge deal for me as well. We are in the same boat, I'm 6'2" and the wife is 5'1"

We have a '12 now and are looking to order a '17 All4 S shortly... I really want to see one in person first, but I really like the look (inside and out).

We sat in a new Clubman the other day and the interiors are pretty close (close enough to get a feel for how the Countryman will be anyway)...

I really want the Car Play! Although, I am mad that the Nav isn't A La Carte, you have to buy the package... The only thing in the package I want IS the Nav!

I am also pissed that they moved the gas filler to the opposite side! LOL!

Oh and one other MAJOR improvement on the new F60... Gas tank grows to 16 gallons from the paltry 12 gallons in the R60. That's a 33% increase in size and it does matter!

That is the first good thing I've heard about it. This 12 gal tank is a joke.
I'm sure its a nice car tho.

I didn't know about the upgrade, that is nice! Plus the better fuel economy and I'll barely have to stop at a gas station!

I'm the exact opposite, I like how the new interior looks but I am not a fan of the squinty looking headlights and, as said before, cheaper appearance of the rear.

I attended a MINI Countryman launch party this week at my dealer. They did a nice job on the redesign. The car is bigger and updated inside and out. I wasn't sure if I'd like the fender contours but they look good in person.

In general I like it, especially the plug-in ALL4 model. However I really dislike the tall roof rails; the current low profile rail design is much more elegant. Perhaps they are trying to make the car look taller (like Subaru does with various models).

Thanks for posting photos. I'm going to similar event tomorrow at MINI of the Main Line just outside Philly. My guess is same car will be there.

That blue looks REALLY nice in all the vids I've seen so far. How is it in real-life?

They are making it look like the small SUV it is. Taking away the uniqueness, IMO. It seems a little odd because I thought I read sales had been really good on the model. Why make it look more like everything else?

Eh, I'm just one person...

I agree about the roof rails being too tall. I do think they are doing it to make the car seem taller. It may also be for those who want to use more standard roof racks.

The black bumpers are part of an appearance package meant to make it look more rugged. I'd skip those as they seem to over complicate the design and the gloss black shows every bit of dirt, dust, dings, etc. Look for the other photos of the Countryman S ALL4 that don't have them.

The Island blue is really nice. I'm not sure what it would look like in sunlight but it seemed like a metallic blend of the old surf blue and true blue with a touch of electric blue. It is a bit deeper than the true blue but not violet like the starlight blue.

talk about a downgrade.
r60 is just the perfect package, perfect size.
too much going on in the front and very little on the rear, its like they ran out of coffee and said ehh just finish it up.

I am an adaptable not highly critical person. I could own one and be happy, just as I could own almost any version of MINI except one type which I won't mention so as not to po owners. Not a big fan of the lettering as our 2011 doesn't have Countryman splashed on the back. I assume you can order it de-badged..

As of right now, you can't order it de-badged (I asked our sales guy cause we don't like it either), but they should come off pretty easy... The sales guy said they did it on a few of the R60's that didn't come de-badged. I knew they could come off (hairdryer/heat gun and some fishing line is your friend), I was more worried if there were any alignment holes (the 5.0 badges on my Mustang have alignment holes, so I could only replace, not remove)...

it is interesting side by side, I like the r60 better, and when the f60 pic were first released I was like thank you for not ruining it. im sure it looks better in person. the x1 looks really good in person so I would imagine this does too. granted the styling in the headlights is not my favorite. but to have that 2.0L would be awsome

I probably slightly prefer the r60 more on the exterior, but it seems like the fit and finish on the inside is night and day better in the f60.

Next time I'm in the market (I have an r53 and an r60 at the moment), I imagine I'll cross-shop an f60 against some other options.

Now I'm curious about the lettering on r60s. I thought it was a year thing, like 2014+ didn't have it. Is that not true? Mine doesn't have it, and I prefer it, but I'm second owner. Didn't notice anything on the invoice. I guess PO could have debadged.

For me, the tailgate is the thing I don't like the most. The size increase would have me cross shopping more stuff, too.
