arrival time

my baby is on the slow boat to america as we speak. was curious to know how long I'll have to wait to pick it up at my dealer once it finally comes ashore (coming to nyc port for east coast delivery, btw). seems like being transported to the VDC, then checked at VDC, then transported to dealer and finally prepped for pick-up could be a PAINFULLY long process. anyone out there who can share his/her experience? good or bad. I would greatly appreciate it.

From: Just outside Memphis
If I remember correctly, mine arrived at the VDC on a Wednesday, and I took delivery the next Wednesday. It traveled from S.C. to Memphis.

Assuming that the car is not delayed by the occaisional lack of cupholders, or some small knick-knack they add at the VDC, one week sounds about right - 3 days prep, 4 days ship.

thanks for the info. that gives me some frame of reference. boat gets in on the 29th...so hopefully things will move quickly and I'll be motoring by October 9. fingers crossed!!

JoeDentist...I'm getting Purple Haze S, too..though mine is 100% purple. all pkgs + HK, chrono, chrome line interior and cloth seats. tried to get the anthracite headliner, but it didn't work out (don't ask). anyway, how do you like your purple guy so far? any major problems/issues?

Same boat

Phaze05, we are on the same boat (Maersk Wind). I also got the PH with all the packages but it is a cooper.

congrats, Kishino. nice choice on color. saw a 100% PH S in person (on a slightly overcast day) and fell in love. was an inch away from pulling the trigger earlier this year...glad I waited for PH (I think). I'll make the final decision once I'm living with it on a daily basis.

hopefully you'll be on the road soon as well. can't wait myself.

Unfortunately my PH MCS has been at the Charleston VPC since 9/09.
Apparently about 6000 Coopers came into the States with the wrong transmission fluid or not enough trans fluid according to my MA
But should pick up first of next week
