Think there is a facebook page for "Modded Minis" you might have better luck on

215/45/17 works well, and lots of good choices in that size.

225/40/17 has lousy choices unless
you want Hoosier racing tires, and may rub.

225/45/17 is getting a little tall and wide, will probably rub.

225 is challenging in a 17, but doable in a 16, with 215 on a 17 seems to be about all you can get with the proper offset. I ran 215's on my last 2 sets of tires, and now Im running 205 just due I want to try this tire and it didn't come in a 215

Ok cool. 215 is really what I was looking at buying. The size for my stock tires lacks for multiple choices

Typically wider tire such as 225 = larger contact patch to ground for better traction especially in the corners. But unless they are installed on a 7.5 or 8 inch wide wheel there are no handling benefits using stock wheels, especially on a 2600lb car. In fact one would have better tire patch to ground / traction using the OEM 7 inch wide wheel sticking with a 205 or 215 size ( max ).

I ran 16x7 205 re71r this last AX season, I could use more tire.

I just had a set of 225/45/15 RS-3's mounted up, these are takeoffs and had one race session on them.

949racing 15x8 +36 wheels

5mm spacer barely fit up front, going with 10mm up there to clear my KW V3 coilovers, camber is at -2.5

In the back they clear the trailing arm but I'm going to run a 5mm to be safe, it's very close. never measured camber back there, probably -2

my springs are so stiff I doubt I'll rub, if I do I'll post back again

Just installed 215/45/17's on stock rims. Does sit a little higher, but the wheel/well gap has diminished slightly.
