HELP!Is this R53 overheating ?!

Hi all!

Is this mini over heating ?

I'm Interested in buying a 2005 mini s with 150k miles .. I wasn't sure if it was over heating. It sat @ 140 degrees when I turned it on then after driving it moved up between 140 and 250..

I've tried searching but I figure someone can give me a quick answer

Thanks in advance !

I can't call you because I'm in a different country, but I don't think it's overheating. The normal operating temp is around 200-220 degrees so as long as it sits there and doesn't climb higher you're probably good.

I'd say they designed it so straight up is normal.

I agree with Racingguy04. Right around 200 is my usual experience, plus or minus a little.

I have a 06 with the chrono pack also and thought the same thing as you when I first got it. It's perfectly normal to be straight up and down, I agree it does however look misleading as most cars set the normal temp to be in the middle.

I know it doesn't look right, but it is. I have the chrono pack and mine runs hotter than that in the summer months. Seeing the needle that close to redline takes a little getting used to.

Congrats, that is perfectly normal as that is about 190. If you want a real temp gauge we recommend the Scangauge II as it gives you the temp down to the degree.

I've always liked the black on black! That's what I was originally looking for when I was searching.
