I'm not so sure it'll fit the R50's (and base R52's). I didn't try the JCW one, but the one I had bought for my '06 R50 years ago (M7, IIRC) did NOT fit. (The current listing on the M7 site is for S models only.) The brace wants to run through the R50's battery box and even if you left the lid off, would interfere with the positive battery terminal.

Just wanted to give a heads up in case there were any normally aspirated 1st Gen owners out there thinking about this item since in the OP it lists R50 & R52.
