Help disconnecting factory MCS ipod adaptor

2005 MCS with factory H/K stereo and factory ipod adaptor.

I'd like to disconnect the ipod adaptor to address a long-standing battery drain issue I've had. I can't seem to locate where the ipod adaptor cable is connected. The cable passes back through a port in the glove box and then snakes down towards the passenger door. I can't find where it goes thereafter. I basically just want to unplug it at its connection.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If I'm correct you should be able to pull down the panel under the steering wheel and reach behind the radio to unplug the cord. This is what I did to install mine. It will be located toward the top left almost directly behind the steering ***. Hope this helps

Piff, thanks for the reply. I believe that works for aftermarket adaptors, but the factory appears to be different. It is not connected directly to the stereo as you describe; I pulled out the stereo to confirm this. Rather, the cord passes toward the passenger door as I described.

Yes it is. It uses the CD changer input at the back of the stereo. You can just unplug that entire connector.

Thanks for the reply and attachment.

I included a photo of how the adaptor cable runs beneath the glove box toward the passenger door, just lateral to the hood latch. See red oval and rectangle. These pics are taken looking up under the glove box.

I pulled off the panel that's lateral to the glove box where the passenger door closes. It turns out the ipod adaptor interface was stashed behind that panel and the adaptor cable was connected to the interface (see white box with bar codes on it). The gray wire then appears to snake behind the glove box back toward the stereo.

I removed adaptor interface and will see if it addresses the battery drain issue.

Thanks for the assistance.
