09 MCS burning oil?

Hey everybody, I'm having a re occuring issue with my 09 MCS that's burning oil. I've checked all around the engine bay and under the car, and there's no exterior leaks anywhere, so I can only assume it's being burned inside the engine. I had it looked at the dealership a few months ago and they replaced my head gasket, valve cover gasket, and valve stem seals. also, my valve cover was replaced about a year ago. I checked my intake hoses and manifold, and there's no oil there, so I ruled out the turbo oil seals. I'm running out of ideas here , anyone have any ideas or know other common problems? Any help you can give is really appreciated, I'm trying to avoid another trip to the dealership.

Blue smoke out the tail pipe? Mine did this and turned out to be piston rings. 55k miles.

No blue smoke from the exhaust yet, but the soot on the inside of the tailpipes definitely has an oily consistency. this happened to you at only 55K? Mines at like 97K now so that could definitely be a possibility.

There will always be black soot in the tailpipe. It appears to be a characteristic of a direct injection engine (my GTI did it, too). How much oil are you using?

I usually change my oil every 3000 miles, but I'm going through between 4-6 quarts in that time frame. I know I'll always have soot in my tailpipes but mine has a very oily consistency rather than being dry.

Wow, that is a lot. I would do a compression check to see if the rings are any good.

I could do that easy enough. What are the normal compression readings for the R56? Would that be in my Haynes manual?

Here's the results from my compression test, from left to right:

110
115
115
118

I noticed when I was pulling my plugs that cylinders 3 and 4 were only hand tight from when the dealer worked on the car, but 3 of my four plugs were soaked in oil. I guess it's time for another trip to the dealer

with oil being in the cylinders, I would recommend checking the PCV/valve cover. Also, when i did a compression test on my 08 MCCS, i got about 150. i was working on a different issue that is now fixed.
