Is this normal?

I've purchased 06 r52 mini cooper s convertible yesterday and had pre purchase inspection from miniworx at southbay and they said this is normal since it's supercharger engine. I used to drive r56 mini cooper base model but i haven't seen this rpm needle moves up and down before even though car is parked. Is this really normal?

Both my 2004 Cooper and 2005 Cooper S do this. Have owned the 2004 since 2004. Owned the 2005 since 2007. Both have done this since new. I would say normal.

Looks like it could just be noise on the signal to the tach. I wouldn't worry about it unless the engine RPMs really start jumping all over the place.
