I would just remove it every time to be safe. You never know who will see it while the hood is open in service and all you need is one person on their high horse making a note in the system to void your warranty if you have a major engine issue. Not like it will happen every time, but only takes once.

I left my JB+ in once when it went in for service, no comment from dealer.

Btw- if you're not willing to deal with the consequences of the device causing harm, don't put one in. Everyone advocating hiding its use and fooling MINI is . . .

Back in day I left my JB+ on my GP2 and nothing was said. I still leave my JB4 on my M4 when I go to the dealer, but it's always safer to remove it before heading to the dealer

Would you leave an aftermarket intake on the car for a maintenance/service?

I'm debating if I should take it off and put the OEM intake or not... on the other hand, I installed an aftermarket intake within the first week of ownership so even if I reinstall it for services, they would know by looking a it (or how clean the filter is...) 😂

I have not had to take my car near the dealer as yet ....but even with the JB4 removed I bet a trained eye could tell that my front tires are putting down way more than stock power.

Trained eye at MINI dealership? LOL, they usually go and work for or start a competing shop. No offense intended for those trained eyes still working for MINI.

Point I'm making is....they see 100's the same cars every day. When something is different is kinda obvious. A car with 10,000 miles and no tread but the front brakes have "normal" wear. You would think to yourself "this guy is spinning his wheels a lot"....

I haven't had a dealer tech think in long time, Mini or otherwise. I used to leave my tuner on my 428i on. They did not notice or at least not care. Just depends on dealer. Unplug it to be safe.

Consider yourself lucky if they do not mess your car up worse than whatever you take it in for.
