I think that is almost the exact $7K markup at Nick Alexander.

Hey Naysayers, i.e. Scargo,

Please educate yourselves on the so cal convertible market before remarking on my asking price!

I have had $34k cash offers all day long, that is still $2k under dealers market adjustments. As a matter of fact at delivery a couple shopping there wanted to just trade places with me at the finance department and cut me a $4k check for the difference...Oh Snap!

I am looking for the closest I can get to $36k and then I'll sell.

You got served.

You should try to duplicate and elaborate.

Not that people would pay that much, but that is freakin' crazy if you are going to spend that much on a convertible. Everyone should boycott Southern California Mini dealerships. My shop has one sitting on the lot at MSRP.

REQUEST:

If people want to have a side conversation about what they see as gouging of dealers and what "fair market value" means in different regions of the country, then by all means start a new thread and discuss that.

For now, let's just let this poster try to sell his cabrio. There still has to be a meeting of the minds and someone offering this kind of money would see it as being worth that much to them.

I got my MCSC on September 1st., (actually I think it was the first MCSC delivered in the US). I paid MSRP for a silver car -w- Sport, Premuim & Cold Weather packages and Lojack. (OK ... OK the dealer got me on the Lojack.) When you factor in tax and license here in California, russell88's asking price isn't all that outrageous for the money that he has into the car ... especially for an all black car. I have over 33K into mine "out the door." Sure, he'll make a few bucks flipping it, but he is not getting rich.

I spec'd out a mcsc at 28k with everything I have now and with T&L it's probably going to be 31k . The OP car probably specs out at 27k or so with tax and license it's right around 30k.

I am considering ordering a mcsc after I test drive one.

I checked ebay and I didn't find a S that sold for 35k. The most was 32.5k but I guess it depends on the options. So cal might be the best place to sell it.

Good luck to the seller.
