I just test drove Bud's JCW MCS and it is a truly immaculate car!! The '05 MCS I have on order will be our 2nd MINI and will be my main bicycle hauling/ twin kid hauling, everyday commuter. Bud's car isn't right for me and my intended uses, but the car drives great, has about every conceivable option known to MINI on it, and looks like it just came off the car dealer's lot.

why selling?

i too am considering selling my brg/w '03 mcs jc-works with extras, basically cause of how the MA's are just raving about the '05 jc-works. plus, i did test drive a plain '05 mcs, and the gearing improvement alone is fantastic. add the works to that and i'm fantasizing of what could be. but i've already personalized my green machine so much, it'd sadden me quite a bit to sell'er.

anyways, are you selling cause you're planning on getting a '05 jc-works?

Don't forget about the factory LSD available on the 05s.

Too many toys!

I own several vintage race cars, trucks, SUV, New Jag, etc.....

I'm out of space and it just sits in the corner of the shop covered up and ignored.

Like I say about my other cars:

"I you don't drive it, it's just a coffee table!"

Nice to have but probably not worth selling a car for unless you're a hardcore autocrosser. Plus, not having lsd most like will make a newbie(generalization) smoother on the track and able to fully utilize lsd when it's installed.

Um, no. An LSD would be beneficial in many other situations. A factory-installed one will save you approx. $2000 when compared to buying a Quaife and having someone install it.

free bump

How do you figure it will save you $2000.00 by buying a factory LSD? If you buy a phantom LSD with installation it's probably about $1300 with installation and a quaife it's probably a touch over 2k for installation. So unless you think Mini is going to give the lsd for free..well, I have a bridge I want to sell you..or in your case, give to you.

And sure in some situations it's useful as I mentioned but the majority of people don't miss it now. In fact, I would wager that most outside of the internet and racing communities many won't even know what the acryomn stands for.

Try again. The phantom grip is a POS. A quaife is around $2500 including shipping and installation from most places. I'd guess that the factory LSD will be $500-800. That is what I'd call approx. $2000. Math is your friend.

If you feel like trolling any more, please just PM me.

correction..he has 13 weeeeeee

sorry, I won't waste a pm on you. Since math is your friend you can tell me in the big picture if selling a 04' to buy a '05 to get lsd is saving 2k. Sorry for expanding it but I think about the big picture. Nah, don't waste anytime because I would rather watch paint dry then read any of your posts.

You have about 8 posts and I have close to 700. I guess I am a bigger troll then you are. Is that simple enough for you?

Holy crud! $2500 for a quaife installed? You can buy them retail for $1050, even with a max 10 hours of install time @ $75/hr (unless you go to the dealership to pay more) you are still talking $1800. I thought they were <30lbs so I don't see $700 from shipping anywhere.

I also think that the factory LSD will be around $700. But then again with all the bumps in pricing in Jan such as the $500 base price increase it isn't THAT much cheaper to get the factory LSD. If you were to sell the car and buy a new one the extra expenses of taxes, etc. it would probably end up costing more.

BTW I've FW that ebay auction to a lot of friends considering buying MINI's. Your car is an awesome deal!

"That being said, PGs are much cheaper and probably just fine for most people who never really push their cars to the limit. You just need to get the correct spring tension (coded by colors) and you're set."

I wonder who wrote that...someone simple perhaps?

Exactly. Someone like you would probably never be able to tell the difference. Drive like a granny (as most do) and a PG will suit you just fine. If you check what diff real race teams use, it's not a PG.

The car in question is a great deal. You could buy it and install a PG or Quaife and be way ahead of the game. I'd be interested, but the color isn't worth considering for me. It will make someone a great car though.

Hey Bud,

I'm sorry to see you're selling your Cooper, but if you are wanting to "give" it away, maybe we can talk!

Take care.
