Jcw tune up

In Sacramento,Ca, at Niello Mini, the quote for the JCW upgrade is $8800. My current MINI is my last . What a bunch of CRAP. **** MINI and BMW. I am going back to either Audi or Chevy.

first, that's absolutely nuts.
secondly, i wouldn't be surprised and tell MINI corporate what they're trying to charge. seems like some BS mark-up to me. get a break-down and call up MINI corporate. they should be punished for that type of mark-up.

the only logical explanation to this is they have a "jcw package" that includes ALL the jcw pieces (wheels, bumpers, tune, exhaust, etc...)

Yeah - that's got to be more than just the tune. BTW, there's more than one dealer in CA, so if you don't like the price of something, you can always shop around.

This must not be JUST for the JCW Exhaust Tuning. They must have thought you wanted the WHOLE package, with brakes, new front/rear bumpers, aero kit, wheels, etc.

Otherwise... good luck going back to Audi... they don't even like to offer you an oil change on your car for free when you buy/lease a new car from them.

OP, please clarify what they're including for $8,800. There's a bit of confusion here and I'd hate to think that they want $8,800 for the exhaust and tune alone.

It's a typo or glitch in the pricing. I clicked on the link, entered that I have a 2016 2 door hardtop Cooper S, and the price adjusted to $2,400. Still more expensive than most other dealerships.

Ironically I changed my car to a 2016 JCW and the price adjusted again to $2,040 uninstalled, and $4,338 installed. Clearly they are having some problems with their website pricing. I would just call them and see what they say.

It's a glitch on the ShopMINIUSA.com website. I went to the Niello website, clicked on JCW accessories, and it opens in another MINIUSA screen. I saw the $8800 price for the John Cooper Works Tuning kit. It has a picture of an R56 engine. Then when you click on the picture, it takes you to another page where you enter your model number and the price comes down significantly. I went to my local MINI's website and did the same thing, and it shows the price as being $9850. MINI's accessory website really needs an overhaul because it is out of date, and doesn't show half of what's available for my 2016 JCW. So, as you can see, the $8800 price for the tune is bogus, and you're much better off just calling your dealer to discuss accessories and associated pricing.

You're always better off calling you dealer. Get to know your parts guy. I always find the lowest online price before talking with my parts guy and he will usually match or beat it by a couple bucks. I've been doing this so long now that now I just give him the part number and he'll give me his best price. Usually ~20% off, sometimes better.
