Few years gone....back now

After being out of the mini ownership for a few years, I am now back with a 2017 JCW convertible. Oh how I have missed the fun!!!!

Welcome back to the fun.

Don't hear many people say that about their Toyota or Honda.

Nice ride! And, welcome back. So, the dealer installed the Dinan for you huh?

Yes. Dealer installed Dinantronics tuner. Felt much more comfortable knowing they installed it due to warranty issues.

I've seen and read abut Dinan before. They were big into the previous series MINI. Nice to hear they and supporting the F series now.

Not knowing much about them (since I have a F56), and they were supporting the "R", can someone give me a "down and dirty" comparison of the Dinan compared to the JCW tune?

I have the JCW tune on my car now, but was wondering if the provides better numbers and also the cost differential. I love the JCW kit and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a performance boost while still maintaining their factory warranty. The exhaust, while "smile inducing at times, is a bit noisy, so wondering if the Dinan provides the same or better performance with a quieter exhaust.

My next car will be a JCW and wondering what numbers the Dinan would provide if installed on it. I'd talk to my Mini Svc Mgr about doing the install as they are pretty forward thinking in this regard.

As an aside, I've seen some of the performance number on BMW cars w/ Dinan upgrades and they are pretty compelling.

The service tech where I had mine done spoke highly of the Dinan on one of the employees car that had the JCW tune. I did not get to test it first on the car he was talking about, but pleased with my install.

Lol. Yeah. Need to corner minif55 market! Started MoJo4Twenty with the missus r56. She wouldn't let me do anything fun with heR car cause of warranty, and she didn't want to be "that car" Went to the dealer and told them I have no money for down and want 6 year financing. They asked me which car I wanted to take home. The Carbon edition wasn't eligible for 6 year financing. Lol. I came home with my MiniF55! Tried contacting admins about a name change and nothing. Viola, I just started all over again.
