Redline Manual Transmission Oil Question

Hey guys,

I'm in the middle of fixing my '03 MCS this summer! I bought Redline 70W80 GL-4 gear oil on Amazon, but 75W80 arrived!!!

I live in Arizona, and the coldest it ever gets in the winter is like 40 F. On the other hand, the summer gets to 120 F, so will I be okay with the slightly higher weight?

I want to be able to drive my poor MINI again.

No problem, esp. where you live.

Awesome, thanks! Any signs I should look out for just in case?

I don't think Redline makes 70W80 MTL anymore - it's all 75W80 (I assume you got 50204 or 50205). Your hotter climate is actually better with the heavier oil.

Not really, the first grade signifier number (75) is the viscosity at cold temps, so where you are you wouldn't even notice a difference if there were an even greater spread, in a cold environment it may cause a heavier shifter until warmed up, but I doubt that small of a difference would even be noticeable then.
