WOOT!!! I have a VIN and she is on a boat to Galveston :)

Yep Yep Yep Yiiiipppeeeeeeee

Expected to arrive in Galveston on June 10th. Not sure how long it will take to get up to Austin from there. Time to start getting mods lined up

1. power cable for my RD so I can plug into power from the rear view mirror (where can I get this)
2. mount for RD (but not sure what to do for this yet)
3. NM or Burger module
4. Tinting of windows of course possibly Expel too (anyone know a GOOD place in Austin for tinting and or Expel install)
5. License Plate holder (that doesnt drill into the bumper)
6. Rear antisway bar?
7. other stuffs

If anyone has info on where I can get these items please let me know. I am scouring the forums but it's hard to find info on stuff.

Thanks,

David

I purchased mine (NM) from ECS Tuning, they had the best price at the time. They may also have the sway bar. It takes about 30 minutes to install the module and it takes it a while to bond with the ECU, usually 30 - 40 miles.

I'm not sure what boat it's on...Last update I got back on the 27th was that it was at the UK port but the timing seems right. Ask your MA, he will be able to give you the link to track the ship.

Call 1-800-ASK-MINI....have your Production No. ready & they can tell you which ship your MINI is on. Then track the ship online! I don't remember the website but surely someone does.

Talked to my MA today, no update via his information...says it's likely to hit Austin somewhere between the 15th - 30th of this month. My lease is up on the 19th, so I sure would love it if it came in before that.

My Mini is also ready to sail for Texas (or maybe already on its way) but the Mini reps on the phone say it doesn't seem like it left port on the last few ships that have been in Southampton with Galveston on the itinerary. It's been sitting on the docks since last week. I am hoping maybe it did set sail and their info just hasn't updated yet. I assume it'll be a K-line ship (name ending in Highway). The last to leave was the Bishu Highway which left late in the day today, just before closing time of the mini call center.

How long did it take for Mini to get you info with a definitive ship name?

By the way there's some info about the Athens Highway here. Unless you pay for satellite tracking it will only start updating its position on the map once it is closer to shore. it think the tracking cost is only $16 or so.

My car is also on the Athens Highway. The inability to track the ship across the Atlantic has been brutal. The last position was just outside of Gibraltar/Morocco on 5/30. By my calculations it should take about 2-3 days to transit the gulf, so it should pop up on the tracking sites in the next day or two if it is still on schedule to arrive in Galveston on 6/11.

I have been speaking with a few users that had cars go through the Galveston VDC in the past few months and it looks like cars have been making it through in 2-3 days before transport to the respective dealers. With any luck we should all get our cars by next weekend (6/18).

Update!!!!!

The Athens Highway just reappeared on the vessel tracking apps off the coast of Jacksonville, FL. Looks like it will make a quick stop then head on to Galveston. Depending on the length of stop in JAX, it should be right on time to arrive in Galveston on the 11th. Woot! So happy we can track the progress again!

Awesome! It's almost here!

Mine is still not showing as not yet shipped so it's either on the Bishu Highway or will take the next ship, Eurasian Highway next Monday. :/

Still nervous it's not at sea but who knows.

Just found out this morning that mine is on the Bishu Highway. The forecast route says it's due to go through the Strait of Gibraltar to Barcelona before heading stateside. My guess is I have a couple weeks left...

I was sure mine would make the Bishu Highway but I called yesterday and they said it's still on the dock (unless they were wrong).

How long did it take for you to find out it was on the Bishu? Maybe I should call Mini one more time.

If I did really miss the Bishu, the next boat leaves on this coming Monday, the Eurasian Highway, but I'd rather find out I was on the same boat as you!

My MA sent me an email this morning letting me know that it was on a boat. On Monday, his system hadn't refreshed to let us know it was even assigned to a boat. I was under the impression it was still at the dock, but since the Bishu is now at the Strait of Gib, there must be a several day lag in the updating of the system.

I just called the 1866 Mini number and asked a rep there for an update and she said it was still in production (!!) but then I called back and that rep said it was on the dock awaiting a ship once again.

I guess I need to talk to my MA to be absolutely sure but it doesn't sound good. When I talked to my MA on Monday he said it still hadn't shipped. The Bishu left port on Monday at about 6 PM Texas time. I was watching it live on marinetraffic.com and assuming my car was on it based on when my production was finished, but then I could never get confirmation.

Oh yea, I need to find a GOOD tint installer in Austin and a GOOD place to possibly install Expel if I decide to go that way. The dealer offered me free paint protectant stuff but I am not sure I want them to do it. I want to have a great detail done first. Anyone know a good tint/expel place in Austin?

Thanks

Awesome!!! You're so lucky. Mine hasn't left Southampton yet. :(

Can you please tell us how long it takes for your car to clear the VDC? That way I'll know what to expect next month.

With the Athens Highway actually in Galveston currently, I just got off the phone with my MA and he believes that my car should make it to the dealership by Wednesday or Thursday. That would equate to 2-3 days in the VDC as we were all expecting from the past few posts on the subject. I will let you guys know when I know more, but it looks like my car will be available for pickup on Friday. I don't need to tell you guys that it has been a long 9 weeks and I am ready to take delivery. I will post pic when I take delivery.
