Glove Box

In the back of the glove box (R53), is a **** you can turn - I can't seem to find what this does. Does it do something magical .. like instantly refill my fuel tank? Summon Santa to deliver me more goodies? Call the Budweiser horses to come and deliver some drinks? Alert Playboy Mansion to send some car models?

That's to control the air conditioning into the glove compartment. Giving you a refrigerated glove box for soda and such.

Yes,

You can see the backside of it where the hose to the HVAC would connect. 51166959970

I believe it also works with the heat to keep something warm, but the unit needs to be blowing, its not always on, its just a valve that you can open or shut

Yeah....an extra "me too" feature...
Guess having "cool gloves" After you take them out after a drive in the summer might be of use?!
Guess you could toss candy bar in the glove box in the summer....just take it out when you stop!!
I alwYs kept the valve open...guess the cool air kept stuff dehumidified in the summer and let stuff from getting musty in the winter....
You will find lots of little features...some useful....some are kinda mysterious....
The first few pages of an old thread about things you didn't know about your car in the gen1 section is a fun read at times...gets repetitive,, but lots of nugget's of info.
Find the "secret compartment" yet?
