Manic Stage 1 in Upstate New York

I just purchased my first MINI. 2013 Clubman S. I am interested in stepping it up to a Stage 1 tune. How do I find a Manic dealer? Also, if anyone could suggest other upgrades I should make that will not be too much for a daily driver.

Thanks!

Several dealers post on NAM, read the threads with reviews, Mariokart seems to have a great reputation.

intake and intercooler.
If you want stage 2 get a downpipe to remove the cats. or "Hi-Flow" downpipe.

I would definitely recommend an intercooler at the very least just to help with heat. Intake is nice for the turbo noise.

Where in upstate NY are you? I'm from Long Island and I went to KMD Tuning in Saddle Brook, NJ for both Stage 1 and 2. They're a great shop.

If it's a long drive I'd definitely bring along a spare set of spark plugs and an extra coil pack just in case something dies on you. When I went Stage 1 it killed a coil pack and Stage 2 killed my fuel pump. Not Manic or the shop's fault, just something to expect or know about.

Thank you for the tips guys. I am looking at Intercoolers now. I have purchased the Hi Flow K+N filter instead of going Cold Air Intake.

If failures are going to be common, would it be suggested not to do a stage 1 tune for a daily driver?

I am also looking at purchasing a torque arm since it seems like an affordable and quick upgrade.

I am in Rochester, NY.

I wouldn't say failures are common, just that if any of your parts are even starting to go out and have otherwise unnoticeable issues, the tune will bring that out. It's increasing the load of a lot of the components so any weaknesses in the engine will be brought out. Considering you have a 2013 Clubman your engine should be pretty solid. And a Stage 1 tune can be run on stock components so it's not so much an additional load that it could even start to kill your engine.

I'm running stage 1 with my daily and no issues. I would also get 1 step colder plugs and throw those in at the same time.

Im running a custom tune closer to to stage 2 on a daily driven n18 engine mini cooper s. Stage one is rather easy going for the road, you're only looking at a 3 or 4 psi increase in boost with just an ecu reflash. I'm running stock DP with 2.5 in exhaust from the DP, and inggercooler with muffler delete, uprated diverter valve and DOS intake and I'm running 20lbs of boost. its whatever you're looking for and you can always retune if you want more power later on. And the winters aren't that bad as long as you have 16'' rims with good snow tires. been through two buffalo winters in my cooper s.
