R55 Clubman Factory Spoiler Splitting
Clubman Factory Spoiler Splitting
I was giving my Clubman a good spring cleaning yesterday, and when I came around to claybar the rear spoiler, I found that the leading edge of the passenger side of the spoiler is splitting. It's splitting right along the part line where the top and bottom parts of the spoiler are joined together. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, go feel the leading and trailing edge of your Clubman's spoiler...you'll feel the part line.
I'm not sure how those two parts of the spoiler are joined together though...clips or adhesive are my only thoughts. It's an incredibly awkward angle though, so it's hard to see. I don't see any dried adhesive residue though, which makes me think it must clip together somehow.
It's not in danger of falling off or anything at this point, but I was curious if anyone had or seen any issues like this with the factory installed spoiler?
I know the factory spoilers are bolted to the roof on the Clubman, so I guess if I really wanted to I could pull the headliner and unbolt it...but giving myself paper-cuts between my toes sounds more appealing. Or I could get some adhesive and glue it down...but that doesn't sound particularly appealing either.
And of course she's 2000 miles out of warranty
.
Sorry for the crappy pic, but it was the best I could do in low-light and at the awkward angle. You're looking at the leading edge of the passenger side of the spoiler.
