The LAST Aftermarket Bluetooth thread anyone should need!
So like so many other MINI owners.. i purchased my car without the streaming bluetooth option. (in my defense, i bought the car used ) I spent quite a long time trying to find a used Clubman S with the nav option but to no avail. SO, I took to the forums and internet trying to find a suitable option to gain the Bluetooth streaming and not have to have either the expensive and ridiculously short MINI "Y" cable, or cable clutter in my car.
Of course i found the dongles and other rechargeable options, but all of them had the same fault.. either they were unnecessarily long, bulky, or required you to manually turn them off or on. UNTIL NOW!!
i was surfing Dudeiwantthat and came across a new product called Firefly by Tunai. It's a short Bluetooth Receiver powered via USB and transmits the signal into the integrated AUX cable. the whole unit is no larger than 6"
i got it shipped to my house for free and it only costed me $31 and some change!
**note: i am not in any way affiliated with this product or dudeiwantthat, i am just a EXTREMELY happy customer and MINI enthusiast!**
Another thing i found out while looking at my options was that the other receivers i was finding had poor reviews for sound quality.. the Firefly receives and transmits the audio perfectly! no garbling, just crisp, clear sound.
All you need to do to set this bad boy up is plug it into USB power and plug it into the AUX port. then open your Bluetooth settings on your phone and select "Tunai Firefly" and you're off to the races!
I hope everyone looking for a Bluetooth option finds this post helpful so we can stop the continuous Question "how can i get Bluetooth"
I installed another power socket with extra USB slots as well
