R58 JCW Brake Dust

Hi Guys

I know some of you have this same problem my R58 JCW Brake dust is terrible.

The pads are stock as the R58 there are no issues with the brakes they work as there designed aggressive.

My only issue is after just cleaning the car and a small drive the Brake dust buildup is excessive and to make it worse that stock JCW Rim is difficult to clean.

So here is what I am asking anybody figured out a better brake pads or a better wheel cleaner or even a rim protect coating?

Before and After photos after just 100 miles in the dry

Ian

I know.................this has been an issue with mine since new.

Because of the environment were I live, I need to have the car high pressure washed every week, particularly the fender wells and wheels.

This helps a lot about the dust problem. I am now close to 18K.

Funny you said pressure wash because that's what I did tonight to clean them.
I have been testing Armor All 78482 Wheel Protectant on the my wifes car it works. Now applying it to the R58 JCW hopefully this might solve the problem.

The factory pads are extremely dusty. I swapped them out and put EBC Red pads in and the dust is still there, but to a lesser extent. I think I remember reading somewhere that cleaning the barrels of the wheels help to curb the amount of dust, as it transfers from the inside to the face of the wheel when driving. No clue how accurate that is. Definitely recommend giving a thorough cleaning of the face and inside of the wheels, then putting a good wheel wax on that will make it hard for the dust to stick to the wheels.

As I said above, go to a high pressure car wash and clean the wheels, calipers and rotors but also your fender wells.

It will mostly fix the problem. There is no need to replace the OEM pads.
