Dipstick assembly removal

Hey. Well my dipstick broke off a while ago. I tried the tricks of using long tweezers, a screw grabber thingy and it's plastic so the magnet didn't work. Looks like I will need to take the stick assembly off to get at it. Is it hard to do??

Can you see it in the tube or do you think it made its way down to the oil pan?

Can't really see down in there. I have a tiny flashlight somewhere. The top should only be down about 5inches. How far down can it slide in??

It can definitely slide down and end up in your oil pan. More than a few members have experienced this. Some good advice in this thread HERE.

Thanks for the lead. Looks doable...I think. My son is the mechanic in the family. I'll replace with the metal one from Craven probably! I sent that page of info to him. I'll see what he says.
