Buying a used 2013 JUSTA anything I should look for?
Buying a used 2013 JUSTA anything I should look for? It has 21K miles and is a certified MINI 575 anything I should be looking for in general? Timing chain issues, oil consumption? I checked the carafe and it looks like the previous owner did oil changes every 5K. Anything to worry about like the N18 turbos? This will be for my sister for her commute car.
Thanks Guys!
Thanks Guys!
Got a 2012 Justa with 575 warranty with 33k miles. Water pump failed at 42k miles. Covered under original warranty - glad I bought a CPO.
Understand that the extended portion of the warranty (1yr 25k miles) is not as extensive as the original. So keep that in mind. If they don't budge on price, see if you can score a better warranty terms with them.
At 50k miles, my CPO is doing well.

The Justa N16 NA engines typically don't have as many issues as the N18's. What I'd suggest looking out for is routine maintenance items. Even with those miles, make sure things have been done at mileage and time intervals. Just be sure to keep up on them and maintain it well and your sister will enjoy it very much. Also, keep up on the 5k oil change intervals.

With my 2012, I have had the oil pump solenoid fail three times so far. A couple of those also required the thermostat housing to be replaced at the same time, because the electrical plugs were different with the revised solenoid.
That's basically it, except for a couple of noises. And the stock jack not working.
The base Cooper is not quite immune to the timing chain issues, but seems to have a vastly lower probability of hitting them than the S. It is immune to turbo troubles, HPFP problems, carbon build-up, and so on, because it doesn't have those systems.
Mine's been pretty good so far!
