Extra connector after engine rebuild

I had to replace the pistons in a 2007 R56. Done with the job with the exception that I have an extra connector and I can't figure out where it should go. I included a few photos. The wire is located under the intake manifold in the area below the starter. There is a joint under there with a black connector on the left, and a brown one on the right. I can't figure out where the other end of the brown should attach to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ed

I recall having a similar problem. Mine was located in the flywheel housing area --- probably the crankshaft sensor connector. Take a look at RealOem's parts breakdown under "Engine Electrical System / Cable Harness Fixings" or "Engine / Engine Housing / Engine Block Mounting Parts". I didn't expect to find a connection in that location, so I completely missed it during re-assembly. Pretty easy to get at tho.

Thanks for your input, but it's not the crankshaft sensor connector, or the knock sensor. Those two are already connected. I've looked at the RealOem diagrams, but I haven't found it yet.

My '07 R56 coolant thermostat housing connector is brown, with 2 wires, but probably up too high to be the one you want. Maybe finish assembly and start it --- see what codes you get?

Good luck ---

Turns out that the extra connector goes to the crankcase ventilation hose where it attaches to the underside of the intake manifold. Had to take the intake manifold off to be able to see it. Thanks to all that replied.

thanks for the update.

Looks like to the fuel tank breather valve under the intake manifold. 13537543285
