EBC or Stoptech Brakes?

Hey guys wondering if anyone has used the following Rotors/Pads I'll be replacing mine next week and wanted to get some slotted rotors and better pads than the OEM's. Appreciate any input.

EBC: http://www.carid.com/2010-mini-coope...t-4036870.html (from my understanding you can't use EBC brakes/rotors interchangeably with other manufacturers)

Stoptech: http://www.carid.com/2010-mini-coope...-59069134.html

Would this be the kit your are talking about? Since these are Ceramic pads do they require ceramic rotors? Are would conventional steel rotors work? Just want to know in case I ever need to change them in the future. Thanks

I use Centric rotors, same company as stoptech, possibly same rotors with different branding. Also use Akebono pads, low dust stops well and minimal dust.

I'll report back on how the install goes and what my experience is after the bed-in period is done.

Post before is correct Centric=stop tech

Also if your check brake light is on the dash , you'll need to replace the wear sensors

Thanks I'm really excited to get them this week and get my hands dirty installing them on Saturday. Should be above 50° this weekend so perfect day to work outside.

The redstuff pads are ok but not so good during cold weather. The yellowstuffs will be better yet will have more dust.

+1 Like the ebc reds. Lower dust. Great bite. Watch those sites as they don't call out the JCW sport brakes

Update:

So I finally got the EBC kit on the other day and wow I'm impressed (yellow stuff). They are great, I highly recommend the EBC kit. Very smooth, quiet, and provide great stopping power, plus the slotted look adds a really nice touch! Can't wait for them to really bed in properly and I can test them out this Spring before MTTS. (WI to CA) By the way the job was incredibly easy, and the Bently service manual for the R56 was amazingly helpful.
