What have we gotten ourselves into?! I owned an MG Midget at a couple points in my life, and now we have "adopted" a 2005 Mini Cooper S. In the 3 weeks we've had it, I've become familiar with strut mounts, a broken dipstick and the "Trifecta". In spite of that, I'm feeling "chuffed as nuts" over our purchase and am looking forward to spending a bunch of time here on North American Motoring.com.
As you can see, we had a 2004 Nissan 350Z until a patch of black ice sent it skidding into an oncoming car. Zed was a total loss. When we went looking for a replacement, the only vehicles we looked at were Mini Coopers and Z's. After one test drive, the Mini won out.
Ouch. Sorry to see what happened with, Zed, but glad you're alright. Sybil looks very clean and I do enjoy those checkered mirror caps. The chrome hood scoop goes well with the front of the vehicle.

You're close by. Check out MINIs In The Ozarks (MITO) held in October at Eureka Springs. Well organized and lots of fun and several fantastic day trips to choose from.
Welcome! I'm new here too! That's a nice one. I just bought a 2004 S a couple of days ago. This is my third Mini to own and I know you will come to love it! A couple of my friends owned Midgets back in the 70s. I liked them, but I was too tall to fit in one...lol. Enjoy!
I'm looking forward to this... But it would help if I could figure out just what kind of mods were made to our Mini before we adopted it. It has a Dinan intake box? and a Dinan strut bar. I'd like to know if the car has any other mods but I'm not even sure where to start.
Ah , its has the old NLA Dinan stuff. Well they made a kit for the intake with a high pressure fuel system upgrade / tune. Most likely its just the intake and strut bar. Post up some pics I can help you out.
