Cold Weather Mini Water Temp Help

I have a scanguage II hooked to the 08 MCS (as I have had since May). Before my Manic tune she would run close to 200-210 F according to scanguage. After tune she hovers around 175-185 F. Now the weather in Iowa has turned cold and I noticed today that normal operating temp of 175f but when I stopped at the ATM and idled for that time it dropped to 155 f. As soon as I took off it went right back up. I did a test a couple times and it did this every time I let it idle for 5 minutes or so. Is this an issue or normal for a 08 MCS in 25f weather? No codes, no leaks that I can see currently (or on my garage floor). Thanks in advance for the help.

How does the manic tune drop coolant temps ? Does their tune trick the thermostat to hold it open longer or all the time telling it temps are higher than actual ? I ask only because I don't believe the RMW tune does this as ScanguageII in my friends RMW tuned R56 reads normal operating temps like any other...

I never heard that a tune changing the coolant temperature!

And that low coolant temperature when the vehicle is idle on a very cold weather is totally expected (the car is not working hard).

As well as a vehicle that is idle on a very hot day will have a higher temperature (the water is not being cooled by the wind generated when running).

I do not see problems in the behavior mentioned.

I still drawing attention, to the tune that changes the coolant temp value!

I have a Manic tune, and yes, it lowers the temp to around 180 degrees F, give or take. It's not an issue, even at 9 degrees this morning. Still plenty of heat, and the lower temps will help the engine live longer and make more power.

Thanks for the replies. I don't know all the ins/outs to the Manic Tune just know that after I got my computer back it ran cooler than it did before. I have the 2+ and run on map B most of the time.

Glad to hear there doesn't seem to be a concern for the lower temp reading. I do still have all normal heat inside and such, but had never noticed it before or on any other car I have ever own. Then again this is my first 1.6l turbo car.
