Hi

I like to plan ahead for large expenditures. I know replacing my run-flats won't be cheap. Any idea of estimated replacement costs? Also, how many miles might I hope to get out of these tires (17" performance)?

Thanks

If you replace with run-flats, you can get the Dunlops 205/45 R17 SP 9000 Sport DSST's from the tire rack for right around $175 a copy. However, if you decide to get regular tires, you can get something like the Yokohama AVS ES100 for about $100 less (and a can of fix-a-flat). It just depends on how risk averse you are.

Just cleaning up the multiple posts. Here are the comments from the other thread.

I was just wondering if anyone is running normal tires with a can of fix-a-flat as backup. DaveInDenver, I'm in Denver too. I'm gonna be ordering my MCS from Schomp next month. Woohoo!

Owen, I have a set of MINI R84 V-spokes with 205/50 R16 Yokohama AVS ES100 tires. They cost about $75 per copy. I also carry a cellphone, my roadside assistance card, fix-a-flat, and a small compressor.

If you haven't already done so, join the DenverMINI yahoo group.

Ok Dave. I went ahead and joined the Denver group even though I will only be in Colorado for another 2 weeks. I will likely be getting my mini the first of December in Nashville.

I've got these in 17s...thanks to Dave. Great tires once they are warm.
I don't even bother with the compressor.

The v-spokes are stock on the cooper S, unless you get the sport package, in which case you get the s-lites. I have the sport package, but I purchased my v-spokes from Classic Auto Campus (an MCO advertizer).

The Yokohamas do not rub in the 205/50 R16 size.
