JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 2nd Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs are discussed.
It seems I don't have many options to fix my issue:
OEM rally/driving lights.......about 800 with brackets and new grille, just for the parts without installation. It may be an other 800 for installation. I believe it would be the best option for driving on very dark roads because I could adjust the brackets to where I need lighting. It is a very expensive proposition.
The other option......
How much would it cost for the OEM Xenon headlights upgrade including installation with all the hardware and are they really better?
For my driving conditions, I need bright lights and good coverage at 120 degrees.
Instead of going the Xenon direction I would first suggest trying 65 Watt H7 Rallye Bulbs in Low and High beams. It is cheap to try, $68 for all four bulbs. http://store.candlepower.com/osraulhiouh7.html
If the 65W bulbs are not enough you might need to go the aux light option.
If you don't have the Xenon lights I'd retrofit the Xenon lights as that will be the biggest and best gain for you. http://www.waymotorworks.com/xenon-h...7-r58-r59.html
We have these with FREE Shipping right now too.
Then if you need more light you can add driving lights later, but they only work on high beams.
Try a led light bar, I got mine for $36 bucks off amazon and it out powers my hid high beams by a long shot! I wired mine utilizing the existing rally lights wiring so the light bar turns on with the high beams for now, but I also got a wiring harness for around $10 off of amazon to control it manually. As far as install, I made custom brackets using 1/4" steel stock bent it into shape drilled out some bolt holes and utilized the inside hood latch bolt holes to secure the brackets into place, then cut out the grill to fit. Sounds like a lot but for less then $50 and a couple hours of time you can have some amazing light output!

Any picture of this on? Both facing the car, and maybe shining on your garage wall? This looks like a LOT of light!
Those light bars are crazy light. We use those on our off road stuff for out in the desert. No way you could use that on road unless no one was around.
I can't beleive how great the new LED headlights are. By far the best and brighest headlights I have experience.
+1 on the bi-xenon option for legal road use that delivers max light output for both low-beam and hi-beam. I love my bi-xenons, and added driving lights with 100W bulbs, but even those don't add much over the xenon hi-beams, the xenons are so good.

I would check to see if you could retrofit those.
Yea , the new factory F56+ LEDs are so bright , they did hurt my eyes a bit coming from Xenon for the first day. Then i adjusted to them. But the Halogen to Xenon on the R56+ , huge difference.
