K&N intake strange noise

Yesterday I installed a k&n intake on my 2009 Mini Cooper S and today on the highway in 6th gear I floored it and the exhaust was popping and it seemed there was no acceleration, once I let off the gas the noise stopped and the car drove normal. Is the noise/power loss just from the extra air not having anywhere to go with the stock exhaust?

Sounds like a you might have an air leak or bad connection on the intake. You did the full intake system ? Check all your connections and did it thorw a CEL ?

Sounds like you have an issue going on. I'd suggest plugging into your OBDII and seeing if any P codes are present.
