I'm looking to upgrade my 2009 mini cooper s (stock) and the way i want to upgrade is to stick with certain brands. The brands i'd like to stick with are Sparco and M7 Speed. Do you think they are good Brands?

 

We carry several different brands so we are not married to one company. We don't recommend all that we carry, but we will give you honest real opinions on how things really work and fit as we have a real shop that works on MINIs everyday and know what works and what doesn't.

 

Sparco is great for seats, harnesses, helmets, etc. I have a sparco wheel and harnesses and love them. They're a very quality company. Same goes for M7. What exactly do you want to "upgrade"?

Sparco is a great brand, many of the M7 products are merely aesthetics and personally I have been very displeased with the fitment of many of their products.

 

Well upgrade in performance

 

Lots of different kinds of "performance". More power, more area under the torque curve, more cornering grip, flatter cornering, better front-to-rear balance in the corners, brakes that resist fade more, brakes that slow you down faster, more light at night, and a lot more possibilities...

 

Has anyone tried the Tyrol Sport Intercooler? Link below. I want to get a high quality intercooler...looks are optional but certainly desired. This seems to check both boxes.

Speaking for myself only, I have made many upgrades to my 2011 MCS, and did not stick to brand names as a guide. I have NM, Alta, Cravenspeed, BMS, Redline, EBC, PiperCross, JB+ and other stuff on my ride that I can't think of right now. Look at my signature! Even a custom-made exhaust resonator delete from my local muffler shop. Also, a custom-made hot-side turbo muffler delete from the same local muffler shop. Any mod you choose should fit your desire and your budget. There is no way that any one company can provide EVERYTHING you need, IMHO. You need to decide where you want to start....power, handling, grip, sound, and even appearance. Set a starting point, and go from there. I started with sound, then power, then went into more handling/braking and appearance mods. To each his own. Bottom line is to have fun, and Motor On!
