Help with Tire/Wheel fitment
Help with Tire/Wheel fitment
I have a 2010 MCS Hardtop (non JCW) with stock 16" 7 spoke wheels (195/55 R16) I have been offered a good deal on a set of JCW R112 17" rims (205/45 R17). Any chance I would encounter any issues being that these were offered as an upgrade to my car in 2010?
If so you know the ride is going to be much more stiff and firm than with OEM 16" wheels and tires.
As far as fitment there is slightly less clearance on width due to the 7" vs 6.5" wide rim and 205mm wide tire accordingly but this is only a factor when you drop the suspension. Using OEM suspension you are fine.
I own an MCS and use 17" wheels for performance driving and OEM 15" wheels and 195/60-15 tires for daily driving for the much more comfortable and less jarring ride but your roads may be better than mine. 45 series tires and bad roads are not a good combination.
