I have a BRAND NEW, NEVER OPENED B&M Short Shift Kit for the 2004-2006 Cooper/S, 5spd & 6spd!!!
(Do some searching if you are not in the know of what makes this kit so special. )

If you are looking for the best short shift kit made for the Mini, this is it... And it has been DISCONTINUED for years. I totally forgot I had this (bummed I never installed it) and just sold my JCW.

Even if you have a different kit installed, the billet aluminum bushings are dang near worth the price alone.

Damn...Boholio if you got anywhere near that $500 price point you were asking for on this, color me impressed.

On another note...I managed to find a B&M SSK for my 03 R53 on ebay at the beginning of October. However, the 02-03 R53s have a different B&M part number (45129) due to the updates made to the tranny in the 04-06 R53s.

How long have these been discontinued? And does anyone know if there is another manufacturer that's making a copy of this?

One last thing, the B&M SSK is compatible with the Whalen Shift Machine, in case anyone is wondering.

 

I got what I was asking, and I honestly think it is worth it. I've paid almost that much for other vehicles SSK before.

I have seen the 02-03's pop up on eBay on rare occasions as well, but never this one.

Not sure how long they have been discontinued, but it took me 2 years to find it and that was 2 years ago and I was searching like mad daily. Still pissed I never installed it... not sure what the heck I was thinking...

 

Have to admit...the B&M SSK was the best mod I have made to my Mini so far, too bad you didn't get the chance to try it out.

If anyone is considering this and some how comes across one in the future, I would highly recommend spending the money to make it happen. You will not be disappointed.

 

I have had one in the box for my R53 for at least 5 years waiting till I have to change a shifter cable but that day has not yet come.

But I just did the head this week, burnt valve at 150,000 so there is still time.
