Turbo bearing noise

Hi Everyone I have been watching this Forum for about 2 years I finally decided to join, having become a recent owner of an N18 MCS.

I would like to begin with a problem I had not too long ago.

I was driving back from work the other day and whilst in third gear doing about 40 mph around 2500rpm their was a sudden loss of power followed by a metallic noise which sounded like cable coming loose, followed by a metal bearings sound going underneath the car at speed .

I pulled over looked inside the engine bay and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The car still pulls but perhaps not like it used too.

my car only has 13k miles and was running 97 RON petrol ATI

please help my poor Mini I'm due some mods but fear I may be looking at repairs before then. 1320 is my local hear in London I may just pay for a Diagnosis.
