Viper stripe install??

i bought a set of viper stripes for my r53 mcs, these were meant for the minis. i went to a couple of shops to get a quote for install. they both said to install its gonna be at least 600 plus because they take a whole day to cut and trim. is that reasonable? they didn't recommend me putting these on because they had to custom trim the stripes around scoops, moldings etc. and they said to just get the ones that are already pre cut which will probably be like 30 pieces in all, but then there are no places that sells pre cut stripes for the r53... if the labor is that much i'd rather spend the money on performance parts, how much did you guys pay for your install of the stripes?

Firstly, who sold you the vinyl? They should be able to advise you on fitment. Applying vinyl stripes is easy to do - if they are made to fit. All you need is a very clean surface, a spray bottle with a mile soap solution and a very clean and smooth squeegee. Some painter's tape is helpful to hold things in position prior to application.
Peel the backing off, wet down the bonnet and the vinyl and float it into position the start from the center and push out the air bubbles.
Here's a link to some pictures showing application of boot stripes, the process is the same. I added boot stripes and have replaced bonnet stripes twice - easy peasy. Scroll down the page to the pictures.

stripes were made for the mini but just not cut out... shops told me with the curves on the hood it'll be hard to straighten the stripes 100%

Order some stripes from Mighty Stripes. They even have some great installation instructions here. We also have a great DIY tech article here that shows the stripe install step by step.
