DavisGentry,
Hi.... welcome to the site.

I've been looking around myself for the same thing. Of course you can always get the OEM option roof rack. Also you could get a hitch mount.
I really haven't looked too hard but did find a little info that may help you. Thule currently is developing a rack. They have an email notification tool that you can sign up for as well. I'm signed up.
I'll try to get a little more info on this topic in the next day or two.
Happy Motoring.

I haven't been able to find anything on the OEM one - it is not on the mini site, and when I ordered my S the dealer didn't have anything.

Any pics, specs, or pricing anywhere online?

Thanks,

Davis

The Install kit is.............. 27.00
Bike holder is .................. 94.00
Luggage Rack is............... 133.00
Ski holder is..................... 79.00
Snowboard holder............. 62.25
Roof box is...................... 441.00

Hope this helps.

Something of intrest on this topic.....
I just read that the roof rack is detachable while not in use. The system comes with "color-matched gaurd caps" to disguise mounting points while detached. Also It can handle up to 165 lbs of cargo.
After reading this I'm in. That will def. be an option on my Cooper S!!
And that should take care of everyone who says the MINI doesn't have enough cargo space.

Way cool - thanks. Now I know what's going to be available oem, so just have to find out what is available elsewhere. I'm going to sign up for that Thule mailing list.

Thanks again for the info.

Glad I could help....
Actually I'm glad you brought this up. I may have never noticed some of the features mentioned above.
Happy Motoring.

Just a bit of a warning on the MINI roof rack. Local MINI dealership informed me that to install it they actually have to drill into the roof of the car. This is a irreversable thing!

Also, they said a couple of other dealerships have informed them that they have had a couple reported cases of the roof leeking after the installation of the roof rack. They said a fix was being worked on and that they are not installing any roof racks themselves until this problem is fixed.

Yeah, I'm for the fully-removeable Thule solution, though it's probably going to be at LEAST as expensive, if not more. I have dreamy images of a rack with the cargo cage and rally lights mounted on the top. Hmm.. maybe that's a bit too Baja?
