new x-lites/tpms - rubber or metal valves?

Hey all

I just picked up super clean R84 x-lites for a steal. Replacing worn runflats with 205/50s A/S in the next couple weeks.

My non-s had a leaky valve on my passenger rear R100 15" Spooler and my tire guys couldn't save it so they just replaced it with a normal rubber valve. My shop told me the stock valves always go bad from galvanic corrosion and said to look into rubber tpms valves. I took the sensor [which still is functional] and sourced exact oem BMW/Mini replacements that I'll be installing in the x-lites but the valves need replacement.

My question is has anyone switched from metal to rubber valves? I know I may be dealing with corroded valves on the other 3 Spoolers, also.

Looking forward to everyone's input. Love this site..

I suppose that you can go with the rubber valves to resist corrosion in your case.

But some say to replace rubber OEM valves with rubber not metal and vice versa:

I do not have a rubber TPMS valve stem for our Beru sensors. Did they completely remove your TPMS sensor for the leaky wheel?

They did remove it and replaced it with a rubber stem. Wanted a quick fix on the 15" Spooler.

But I finally was able to get my XLites installed. Just had Falken Ziex 905 205/50/16s installed. I picked up new 24mm valves and used oem tpms sensors off ebay for cheap. No more (!)
And the ride is so awesome now. No loud Continental runflats anymore!!
