Hey! I was wondering what everyone would recommend for removing salt stains from carpet. I originally thought "it's salt, water will just dissolve it" and that mostly worked but I can still see stains on the black carpet from winter. I had the MINI rubber floor mats in and they just weren't adequate for keeping all the crud from seeping off the edges onto the carpeting. The guys at NAPA didn't have any suggestions other than "touch it up with black spray paint." I'm not that desperate.....

 

I'd try an oxygen based spray, I use some from home depot, Zep brand. Keep in mind that road salting is no longer just salt, but often a mix of chemicals, deicers. Good luck!

 

I have one of those little Bissell's that does a pretty good job. Be generous when blasting the carpet cleaner and rub it around before sucking it up. You'll need to vacuum after the carpet dries.

 

Try to remove most of the salt while it is dry using a stiff brush and vacuum. Then use Folex.
