My new car!!

I just got an email from the one and only, Julie from Classic Mini! My car has arrived at their dealership! Just wanted to let you all know that I'm way excited and here are pics for now! I may add the driving lamps and I will add some custom stripes and some aftermarket 17" rims! Here she is though!!

Boge,

Congrats. Nice 2005 MCS you got there.

Nothing wrong with the 16" X-lyte rims. If you really want to sell them then don't drive on them much and get your 17" wheels soon and then either sell the X-lytes or use them for snow tires.

Rally lights and stripes? Go for it.

So you got your pics sent too? Excellent! You think they will be on the same ride here? Have you heard when? Any guess?

Congrats Boge, your MCS looks great. I remember when Brutus was brand new on the lot still, so exciting.

Classic Mini logos

I saw a post on here a while back with someone that had the classic Mini logos posted on the back of his car "Mini" and "Cooper" and he left the "S" by the "Cooper" logo. I thought that was way sweet and classy too. Where could I find some of those logos for my car and how troublesome is it to replace them?

Which state are you having your MINI delivered to?

Different chrome trim around grille?

In the pictures it looks like the chrome around the front grille is smooth and flat now. My 04 has ridges in the chrome.

Does anybody know if it just looks that way in the pics? I hadn't heard about the change, but now I'm jealous - you won't have to get wax out of the little ridges!

I noticed that too! It does look nicer IMO. Now we have the Aero Grill with no chrome at all . Now I think about it, I'm sure you could order and replace that piece if you wanted too. take care

Congrats Boge, how quickly is Julie going to have your car shipped out? I've got an order in with her (my car just finished production) and I've been meaning to ask her how long it might take given that there's a group of us to California.

asaulo1,

Not a specific price. She mentioned that normally it's around $1800 but with a bunch of people it could be somewhere between $1100-1300, which is what I'm expecting. There are supposed to be a number of us coming to CA at the same time.

mlebeau - maybe it's time for us to start thinking of where we would like to get our cars delivered if they are indeed in the same truck coming from Julie at Classic...... anybody else expecting their babies from Classic that is due west? let's do a mini unveiling somewhere....

Yeah asaulo, I thought about that. They may be doing multiple stops... I think we get the discount anyway because the real issue is coming out all the way to CA. Since you're in Valencia and I'm in the Bay Area, might not make sense for all of us to meet up, but maybe you have some more people in your area.

She just gave me the scoop on my shipping - $1200

Is that normal? It is coming to Utah. I'm guessing the $1200 is to ship from Ohio to Utah and then the $550 destination charge was accross seas?

That should cost less than $1200. It's my first option.

That sounds right for a closed car carrier. A little high for an open one.
