Ok, my first gripe with this thing

The rear-end collects entirely too much road grime. Can't even tell i washed it :(

That's the nature of them. Aerodynamics, look at the back end of any hatchback shaped appliance, They all gather road grime. You've got a choice: A bright shiny, pristine garage queen or a kick a$$ road warrior.

PS: I see you are from AR. Be sure to go to ozarkmini.com on June 1st to register for MITO (MINIs In The Ozarks). It's held in Eureka Springs. They have a well run event with many day trips and evening activities to choose from including a Halloween party Saturday night.

Being a road warrior is what got it dirty

I plan on dragging the family up there. The AR group seems to do something most weekends too.

Any bicyclist attempting to set a speed record rides behind a vehicle with a flat panel behind it. That's because at speed a vacuum is formed behind that panel allowing the bicyclist to go faster than he could otherwise. The same thing is happening with your car. It is pulling in dirt and grime.

I understand the physics behind it, I see it all the time in my rearview mirror, and will ride the occasional semi bumper. Still a gripe though

I know what you mean. I always rinse off the back of the car after a rainy trip home. Just have to remember to hit the rear washer every so often to the grime and dirt out of the jet nozzle.
