Good morning everyone, as I was driving to school this week I think I noticed (could all be in my head) the transmission slipping on my automatic 2006 MCS r53 with 126k miles on it. After going through all the posts etc I think the next step for me next week will be to order a kit to change the transmission fluid. But I am having a hard time finding a kit or what fluid to use? I found a kit from ECS tuning but I am not sure if thats what I am looking for? Please help. What do I need? Will this be east for a beginner mechanic like me? And am I doomed at 126k on a Asin Transmission? Thanks in advance!
Call them and talk to a person about it. Looking at a web site only does so much. They can give you a lot of help if you ask. If it is slipping you are probably pass just a fluid and filter change fix. I hope I'm wrong. Motor on

Ok I will do that then, thanks for the tips. I really hope it isnt too late either.
I don't think a fluid change can get rid of the slipping....a valvebody change is the only solution to the problem.
Do it as soon as possible if you can.
The slippage is only going to get worst and shorten the driving distance over time. You will be going to spend at least 100 to 200 for fluid change but there is no guarantee. It is the hardware that is starting to fail, not the fluid.....have the fluid changed along with the valvebody.
At least it worked for me since the change, its like giving a new life back to the car. An expensive but necessary repair, unless you want to dump it and get another car.

I stand corrected to be 100% honest I think the slipping is all in my head. Basically what is happening is there is just a slightly longer and higher acceleration until it switches gears. Maybe just not as smooth as it should be is the best way to explain it if you understand what I mean. I am thinking the fluid swap 1-2 times and filter change is something I should do anyways what do you think??
Maintenance on these cars is a cost of ownership. Once the filter and fluid is changed, you'll have the peace of mind knowing when it was done. I'd say get it done.
Thanks all! I appreciate the words of wisdom. I am doing the cabin air filter, and fuel filter this weekend after I get back from colorado. Then I will be ordering all the stuff for the ATF change. Any suggestions on fluids or where to buy the kit/filter etc??

If you want to keep it original, just get the items needed at a dealership, I think you will need at least 2 to 3 flushes to have majority of the fluid changed.
Keep monitoring the shifting behavior, for me, up-shift was sliping and rmp flaring from 2 to 3 and 4 at times and then rough/jerking when down-shifting from 3 to 2, and as time drags on, when putting it to reverse, it would delay a few seconds and a BANG and jerk feedback when engaging the reverse gear.
All happens when the car is at operating temp.

Good luck and keep us posted.
i hope the fluid change works out for you.

I can't say I have had any of those things happen to me yet maybe a SLIGHT flare of RPM between 3-4 but thats about it. I am surely hoping the fluid change will make a slight difference. I had planned on doing it myself. Flushing 2 times then the last flush changing the filter and all of that so it would be around 80% new fluids!
I used Redline ATF it is much less $$ than the MINI stuff. There is also a Toyota fluid that is compatible.
Nice, can you just get the redline at autozone or somewhere? Also does the redline conform to the 3309 or whatever requirement mini has for fluids? Do you happen to know if the MINI fluid is sythetic too?

Have you done anything to fix this? Mine is doing the same thing!

Red Line has an application guide HERE. We sell Red Line Oil Products HERE.
