Aftermarket Rear Roof Spoilers (R56)

Hi there,

someone with pictures or experience on installing an aftermarket spoiler to the Mini?
At this moment I'm researching and looking for information about aerodynamic but still thinking on cosmetic stuff.

I could see some good fiberglass/aluminum spoiler to be bolted to the original Mini One/Cooper rear spoiler.

I like the JCW rear spoiler over others styles (Cooper S, GP) and that is the way where I will be moving into my project.

Any idea, comments ... pictures !!!?

Searching the internet I could only find a R53 picture with something similar to an aftermarket rear spoiler:

I'm at that point as well with the rear spoiler. I bought a full carbon fiber M7 wing used but I'm not sure if I want to run that big of a wing. Been thinking of putting the one that attaches to the car on and just some small end plates, leaving the top tier off..... Then if I wanted to aero effect I could bolt on the full wing..... who knows..... The GP is the next choice .

M7 wing, supposedly, has major fitment challenges (based on owners feedback from other threads).

GP and JCW wings are functional, but pricey (for both the wing and the installation hardware).

Most aftermarket wings are just for show.
Here is a discussion thread about some cosmetic wings:

There is also plenty of cosmetic fluff on eBay:

The M7 was mounted on the guys car I bought it from. He ended up going with a complete Duell AG body kit... the pics looked good and he said it fit fine.. I have not mounted it yet so we will see...

The fact they don't offer full carbon fiber any more was one reason I bought it as well....

IMO GP and Duell AG are good options.
i'm with you related to that the M7 wing is too big for Mini.
I Hope you can find your "perfect" (GP?) spoiler soon !

The selected wing is literally flying to me right now!

Will be painted to match the glossy black roof color and maybe side plates matching the chili red car body color.
Both, taking the correct code color (Mini code).

Something like this but it is not exactly the same:

Weight: OK
Material: Aluminum
Installation: Very easy
Look: very good (could be just to me! )
Price: Too cheap compared with my dream (JCW spoiler).

Adustable wing angle (0° to ~45°)
Totally reversible since it will be bolted to an One flat spoiler and I'm running an Aero spoiler. It will be just a switch between wings.

The M7 wing does need the rest of the look as it were or it will look out of place. It is functional as wind tunnel tests have proved but certainly isn't for everyone,

Not mine in those pics, but I currently have a G wing being painted pepper white to go on this an should compliment the gp2 diffuser nicely

It seems M7 looks better on the R53 than the R56.

Since I'm not a street racer BUT while having the certain of winning some downforce on rear wheels, I prefer the cosmetic improvement over the perfect wind tunnel test wing (thinking on price difference too). Just my preference, I know the M7 performance would be better to the car without doubts.

Pepper White! mmmm, I'm thinking that just seeing "carbon fiber" G Wings is my problem.

Please, pics when installed !!!

Man I sure like the aggressive look of the M7 diffuser, I just didn't want to do the trimming required.

I'm going to put my M7 CF wing on and see how I like it. It defiantly stands out.

Thats a sweet looking ride

I bought it from the guy that made them back in early 2010. I only think there are 5 or 6 of them. There were listed on Out Motoring for a while, but I bet they were a pain to make. I was hoping that it would help keep the rear window a bit cleaner in the rain. Nah...Not a bit of difference...lol

Anyway, it's unique and looks just enough different that you hardly notice until you look.

I bet it wouldn't be that hard to pull it off, make some molds and have SOMEONE ELSE make them...lol

Where did you buy that wing and how is it? Also is it for the r56. I think that would look perfect on my mini
