Kevin, I received the CAI today and there are several holes in the foam filter rendering it unusable. Please respond to PM so we can resolve the issue.

 

I would recommend anyone considering the purchase of goods from Kevin Chan to be very careful. I received the ALTA CAI yesterday, and there are several holes approximately 3/16" in diameter in the foam filter. The silicone tube had a layer of dirt in it from the faulty filter, indicating it had been like this for some time. I PM'D Kevin about this and he ignored my messages. I'm having to now file a paypal claim in an effort to receive a partial refund so I can by a new filter from ALTA. Kevin's response to PayPal was that the part is used so he shouldn't be responsible. Please be very careful when dealing with this seller, as he seems to have some less than stellar disclosure of the condition of his used parts.

 

I'm sorry you are not happy with what you received but the intake came off the car in working condition. You asked for pictures and I sent you them. This is a wear and tear part that you bought so I don't know why you're expecting a refund the price of a new filter. You've been trying trying to lowball me the whole entire selling process. The whole CAI came out to $110 excluding shipping and paypal charges, you shouldn't expect a whole new setup..

 

I offered you 10% less than asking price. Most people wouldn't call that low balling. In the end, I paid your full asking price.

Conveniently, the picture you sent showed the side opposite the damage.

A used wear and tear part is not the same as a damaged, unusable part. If there is known damage, it should be clearly stated.

I just want to let other people know that if they are considering buying something from you, they need to be very careful and ask for lots of pictures as you obviously don't willingly provide full disclosure. I've done business on the internet for about fifteen years, and this is the first time I've had an issue with a misrepresented item.

Maybe I'm confused, but you listed a "rear parcel shelf" for $100; someone asked you about a "Euro Parcel Shelf" and you showed a pic of that part, which replaces the front driver's side knee bolster. Is this what you're calling a "rear" parcel shelf? For $100? These Euro parcel shelves were going for well under $100 new, with associated hardware and mat, back in the day. I'm interested in a parcel shelf, but not for $100.

You offered $140 excluding shipping is closer to 20% and then you tried to get me to throw in the foam filter cleaners. It's pointless arguing on NAM, we will let paypal disputes handle it.

 

Rear parcel shelf is the thing that covers the trunk. The euro parcel shelf were going for under $100 when they were still openly available. I bought mine for $150 so the price I sold it for at $100 is fair. The rear parcel shelf is being sold on I think mini mania for close to $200, so I think $100 is a fair price too. I took it off the car at 40,000 miles and kept it in storage.
