R56 lowering and wheel size

Hello all,

I just got a r56 for my birthday, and I'm thinking of adding new wheels and dropping the car..

How low should I drop? Any good brands for a decent price?

What size rims should I get? I'm thinking 18s. But opinion always matter

Thanks!

I'm planning to do the same and based on my research (still missing my final measurements) I feel I could go with 17 x 7.5 Rota RB wheels with Mach V springs on 235/40/17 Sumitomo tires. MINI is a 2013 JCW so I know I'll need spacers for the brakes (have a 4pc set of 20mm's). Anyone feel I won't be able to pull this off or have you done something similar? Thanx for your input.

I was going through some threads and I guess ill just go with H&R coil overs.
18s with offset looks pretty nice

Rotiform just re instated there cast line if BLQ's and turomac's. A lot of people ran the 17x8 et30
For an awsome square fitment. The set will run you right at 1k. As for lowering were you thinking coilovers or springs? I myself am going to run CAtuned flagship coils which you can purchase from there website but I see a lot of people on swift springs that really like the look. I guess it depends on how low you want to go and how aggressive you want your fitment

235/40/17 might be too thick for those rims. many people run 215/45/17 to match the stock mini settings.

also if you are buying new rims, might as well find the rims that fit the offset without spacers. unless you can score a set of nice used rims then you might need to use spacers.
