She's Home (MCS Wreck)!

Just in from picking up my MCS (a wreck) from Gonzalez La (west of New Orleans). Pulled out of the drive at 5:00 am Thursday and drove 705 miles to Gonzalez. Got the Coop' loaded and tied down and started the trip back. We stopped in Miss. at 9:30 with three less hours to drive today. Some of you guys (and ladies) that live in large cities... I'm sorry. Our schedule today was to get in Atlanta by 3:00 pm. Making (big) smoke from the Powerstroke we averaged 73 mph by the time we hit Atlanta (2:30). Traffic was Still BAD. There was a wreck on 285 South/West that backed up traffic for 10 MILES (4 lanes). I'm lucky we were going East/North.

Loading the MCS I only looked over the damage for just a few minutes. I've spent about 2 hours dicking with the radio and Navagation system. I'd thought about cranking it but the battery is dead. It's hit in the left front and left rear. I couldn't get the rear hatch to open and had to remove the inside trim to pop the release. Where in the heck is the Cable Release and the Electric Release? I can not find either of them. (The manuals were missing from the Mini. I"ll contact the original owner and hop he has them.)

Let's see if I can get a picture to post.

Thanks,

Mike

The cable release is under the rear seat cushion, no electric release. In the event you need to jump the car and the battery is dead there is a point under the hood. It has a black cover with a red plus on it.

Thanks James! We looked everywhere but there. Yep, I'd found the cable connector under the hood but had rather connect the charger directly to the battery.

What year MCS, and would love to know how much...

1999 Ferrari 360 Modena...

Believe it or not, this pile of junk used to be a red Ferrari. The driver was going through a tunnel at 130 MPH when he encountered a sharp turn. To make matters worse, there was a car in the way so the driver didn't have much room for error when trying to control the car around the sharp turn.
The Ferrari lost control, flipped over twice and hit a pole. The car burst into flames and the driver got out of the car on fire. He quickly dropped to the floor and rolled, thus extinguishing the flames, but not before burning 40% of his body.

If you need to look up something in the manual, and don't have the paper version, motoringfile has pdf files available. http://www.motoringfile.com/ the manuals are about a quarter the way down on the right hand side. I've been reading the 04 manual to prepare for my new MINI.
Best of luck with that wrecked car.

Here's one that was on ebay too. Sorry, I didn't buy it.

Also... We learned that there's a Hatch Release Button on the rear hatch.
