How to remove rear panels to replace speakers?

Hey All,

I've been looking for a few days but have been having no lucking (including the long thread on replacing mini speakers) Do I need to take any extra steps removing the Rear seats and panels of an R57 to replace the speakers, or is it pretty much the same as an R56?

Be aware that the rear speakers, unless you've done some modding, only play 100Hz and up (they have a filter on them in the factory radio)

Pop the bottom seat cushion up and out
Fold the rear seats down
Use a trim tool or thick flathead to pop the center part of the seats loose
move seat to about a 45 degree position and lift out from the center part you just unloosened and take it out

Trim panel:
Pull the rubber weatherstrip in the door edge out of the way
Gently remove the rubber weatherstrip plugs at the top (they have a plastic panel clip hiding in them)

pull the plugs out of 9,10 (there are 3 of them toward the rear of the panel)

Got it, that looks easy.

I've been debating if I should swap the rears (I have them, just need to put them in). I've also heard that you don't need to do a channel swap in an MCS because of the setup, but I could be wrong.

I'm assuming I'll get an amp and maybe a small sub, but that is down the road. The big issue is, my rear right speaker is blown it seems, so I want to replace it certainly because of that.

I've thought about just getting a two channel amp for the front and a sub or powered sub, but I have the backup control and enjoy it. We'll see. But thanks so much for the info, it is much appreciated!

I just pulled the panel to replace the drivers side seat belt. To add to this there are 2 screws to remove at the number 5 position in the picture. One at the top of the door weather strip and the other in the hole for the wind deflector. Once the screws and the plastic rivets are out of the rear of the panel pull the front of the panel towards the center of the car to release the panel rivets at the door jamb. Once the lower panel is free you can lift the panel straight up to release the clip at 4. When the panel is free reach in and disconnect the wiring for the led light and remove the panel.
