R50/53 Help SEL and DSC lights= Limp Mode
Help SEL and DSC lights= Limp Mode
I am out of ideas I have searched multiple posts to figure this out with no luck. After changing my clutch and getting everything back together I am now going into limp mode once I get above 3k rpm. I got a code reader and am showing P1498 and P2304. I checked my IC boots and the FPR vacuum lines and both looked ok. Any help would be appreciated.
Is your P1498 reading as = Air Leakage After Compressor ?
If it is then I would double check all your gaskets and vacuum lines.
(I throw the P1498 on my MC40 #211 JCW sometimes when I am really hammering it... I can clear it by the 5 start reset technique in lieu of hooking up my laptop to clear the code) I too need to get in there and double check all my post Compressor gaskets and lines.
The difference is I don't go into LIMP MODE, that may be caused solely by the P2304 - Ignition coil B, primary circuit - circuit high ...code... double check your Coil pack install, all the connectors and Ignition Cables (Spark Plug wires).
Also double check your Engine Ground strap.

I replaced the SC intake as well as the vacuum hose from the MAP. I saw on one post that the hose from the map was supposed to have 2 blue o-rings on ut. I know the one I installed didn't have any on it. Do you know anything about that?
If i recall right, the o-ring are on the MAP/T-MAP (they look the same but are not, the r53 has 2..the sensor that is...one is a r50 t-map, only map used, the hot side is a r53 specific part, that one uses both temp and preasure)....on the neck of it in the groves.
When my t-map failed, the DSC was lit, and it had drivability issues, but different codes...
