Hey, I made it !!

Finally get to post .... , registration was hiding over in the spam folder for a couple days

Newb here .... What a cool site with alot of members, kinda reminds me of the Bullet .... (probly a bit cleaner though). I like the fact there are so many that do their own maintenance to keep these cool little cars up and running. I picked up a 2002 R50 that needed a clutch and a decent "once over" restoration mechanically to make it a really nice/clean little shitkicker . 1st time after fine tuning things I had a blast !!, just wish it had a bit more uummph?, but I love the way the car handles and how tight it is ....

I'm my own maintenace kinda guy so you'll see me making some inquiry's on issues I need some help with .... (like my next post is going to be )

Thanks all !!

Gary

Welcome to the World of MINI! Read up on "Cold Air Intakes" (CAI), if it does not already have one. I know when I put them on my small, 4 & 6 cyl. naturally aspirated engines, it made a noticeable difference. There are a lot of opinions on this subject so stand by. The only 2 vehicles that I own that I have not put them on are my Mercedes E550 and Sprinter Van. Other than that, I put one on as soon as I get the vehicle.

Yes, it will be from what I've seen so far... once the snow kick's down round here I'll be using it as DD. I've found without power adders it performs best sporting through shifts 4k and up... she's a dog down low

Doesn't have one as of yet, once I get "all' the the bugs worked out I'll start looking at accessories. I don't have too much further to go as I'm just fixing up the neglect from the original owner. If the car wasn't this clean I would have kept on walking, but a little work makes it more worthwhile, plus I didn't think the mileage was to bad for an 02' w/82-k

Thanks guys

Welcome to the MINI world.

Yes for HP on the R50 the CAI Intake is best bang for the buck.
