R50/53 So after a year....
So after a year....
From the time I picked up Poco there has been warrenty stuff. As I left the lot ,the glove box door would not stay shut. That turned out fine.Day 2,discover that there is no left brake light, bad brake computer, replaced
OK.Now we get into hard winter.-47c.=-40f and a bunch
STARTS first crank
Not " plugged " in ,as in, no availiable block heaters, now they are:smile::smile::smile:
Door handles getting frozen, hard to get in and out!Drove 50 miles to the dealer .-40 .The service guys had to pop the rear hatch to let me out of the car.
I now get very good service ,as I did not" perform" in front of the harder off Bimmer owners
All new rear latch,as the factory one had to be shut with more force than was called for.
Later I found that the high brake light lens was cracked, replaced.
The door handles were the worst, but the Tech drove around in blowing snow with the inside door panel off,and figured it out:smile:Not with my car ,but Poco was next in line to figure this out.
BMW/MINI was right backward on this one. They said it was insde the door,,,wrong,,,Now I know what to do
Clean the snow out of the handle
My MINI Tech is great.
Poco is about to go back to 100+ miles a day,as a daily driver.
We go in for the next service in the next 3 weeks.
The daily drive with Poco is the best

Good to hear Poco is happy.
You're lucky to have a good MINI tech. They are worth their weight in spare MINI parts.
We don't see much snow in the outer door handle on my island.

Well, here's a report from the hotter end of North America. My Cooper has 21K after 1.5 years. I drive about 20 miles a day commuting and the rest goofing around my neighborhood and the occasional jaunt to Austin. My Cooper's been great! Had one electrical glitch early on...AC compressor not kicking in. Discovered this on a warm afternoon in March.
Easily fixed. Had some occasional (warm weather) idle fluxuations, fixed w/ recent software upgrade. Now having some paint failure issues on my interior door pulls (silver paint), but the parts are on order for this. Again, fixed under warranty.
So those have been my issues, but I could write volumes on how great this car has been.....simply fantastic! I have to say also that my service experience at Moritz MINI in Arlington has been super, too. They've really worked with me on these issues and questions I've had....overall the most friendly car ownership experience I've ever had.
