I've been looking for a dyno/ tuner in my area and I can't seem to find any. Anybody know of someone?😁

There was a guy in the South Hills who ran a dyno. I never took advantage of it, but I think he was on Rt 88 or in the Castle Shannon area. If I recall correctly he also sold car models or something. Wish I could be more help. I use C & G Performance on the Red Belt for service,and they have some cool cars there. Maybe Champ has an idea about a dyno.

 

Check with Morgan at Mini of Pittsburgh, he always runs a dyno day as part of his charity autocross in late May, so he has the connection.

Is helix great for tuning?

 

I've seen a lot about Helix doing tuning. Never looked further into it though. Know they are popular if you're close. I need someone in Raleigh NC

 

Chris at G3autosolutions does RMW tunes. I too live in the Raleigh area and I plan on just waiting until MOTD and get Jan to do it then.

 

RMW? Unfamiliar with them. Where abouts are they?

Revolution Motor Works or RMW is a company out of California run by Jan Brueggemann. You can Google him. He knows his stuff.

 

For your '06, I would recommend a RMW custom tune. If you do it remotely (without Jan being there), you will have to buy a flashing tool from him.

BTW, we are having our annual RMW tuning event in the first or second week in April, where he comes to Helix and tunes R52, R53, and earlier R56 MINIs. We already have 7 or 8 people signed up, so it's looking to be a good event. I'll make a separate thread for it soon.

 

If you want a tune for your R53, Jan is definitely the man. It's worth a drive to get in on a tune party if you have the chance.

 

Just called Helix and hopefully reserved a spot for that weekend with Jan. Driving from the Annapolis Maryland area - anyone want to come and make a pack of cars?
